Job Summary:

Perform the engineering, configuration, installation, maintenance/support, and upgrade of WAN components and wireless infrastructure, including, routers, switches, remote access systems, and network management systems. Provide technical support to various departments and users with regards to WAN and Wireless infrastructure.

Your responsibilities:

  1. Ability to learn and configure networking hardware and software such as access points, routers, switches, and network management systems.

  2. Support, install, configure, or upgrade wireless components and WAN infrastructure including Broadband and MPLS circuits.

  3. Configuration and maintenance of wireless and WAN support tools and applications.

  4. Basic skills in identifying connection, reliability, or performance issues.

  5. Partner with key vendors to obtain and maintain certifications if required.

  6. Assist in training/mentoring for Help Desk and Operations personnel.

  7. Act as an escalation point for Help Desk and Operations personnel.

  8. Have an understanding of Windows based operating systems, Wireless components and router/switch operating systems.

  9. Will need to be on call one week per month. Mostly first shift.

Required skills and qualifications:

  • Degree in computer science, engineering or related area from a 2 year technical college or 4 year university; and 2+ years related network experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and

experience.

  • Experience with Windows is required.
